			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This course is aimed at Care Assistants and Support Staff and is intended to compliment the Common Induction Standards and can also be used as a refresher to the same.</p>
<p>Course content:</p>
<p>Moving &amp; Handling - Theory &amp; Practical. Infection Control with practical hand washing techniques. Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA). Observation &amp; Awareness.</p>
<p>Aims of the course:</p>
<p>To teach the students safe practices in Moving &amp; Handling for both the service users and the employee. To make them aware of current legilsation and their duty of care, demonstrate risk assessing, give them an insight into anatomy of the spine and explain how to avoid long and short term injury.</p>
<p>To ensure that practical hand washing is undertaken correctly and to give an awareness of all aspects of infection control.</p>
<p>Students will learn how to protect vulnerable adults and report concerns surrounding abuse.</p>
<p>They will learn how to develop the skills for good communication and relationship building through effective observation and awareness.</p>
<p>Learning Objectives :</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate a knowledge of current legislation and understand what their duty of care involves when undertaking moving and handling during their working day</li>
<li>They will understand the effects of poor techniques and posture on their spine and the risk to the service users</li>
<li>Be able to practically demonstrate good moving and handling teckniques including the use of relevent equipment</li>
<li>Have an understanding of risk assessment, it&#8217;s importance and how it relates to the Health &amp; Safety at work Act.</li>
<li>At the end of this course students will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the cause of infection,identify the various types of infection and infestations apparent within the care environment, and understand the requirement for reducing the risk and managing control of infection.</li>

Observation &amp; Awareness. Respect, Dignity &amp; A Good Working relationship towards Service Users. Enabling &amp; Promoting Independence.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Aims of the course:</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">During this 2 day course students will learn the theory and practical skills of risk assessment and the writing, reporting and effective recording of Care Plans. They will learn how to Safeguard Service Users under the Deprivation Of Liberty Safeguarding legislation through observation and awareness. Along with the knowledge to provide respect, dignity and a good working attitude whilst promoting and enabling Independence. The course is fascilitated using varoius training aids including that of a work book to be completed by each student throughout the course.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Learning Objectives:</p>
<ul>

<div style="text-align: left;"> Students will be able to demonstrate a knowledge of risk assessing and their legal obligations to this and Care Plan documentation.</div>
</li>
<li>
<div style="text-align: left;">They will have an understanding of current legislation with regard to DOLS</div>
</li>
<li>All students will learn the importance of a good working relationship towards Service Users offering dignity and showing respect.</li>
<li>They will learn the importance of enabling &amp; promoting independence </li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: left;">Course Duration : 2 Full Days (9.30-16.00)</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">In order that students receive the maximum amount of tutorial interaction attendees should be limited to 10.</p>
